April 4th, 2010 - TwentySomethings is Live Online!
March 18, 2010 - South by Southwest
The Masters of Entertainment Inudstry Management (MEIM) spent the past week experiencing what the world knows as Austin, Texas: The Live Music Capital of the World. Fusing the city's brilliance of twentysomethings and early thirtysomethings, with the nation's leading music, film and interactive festivals, Austin becomes a city of innovation, inspiration, and libation.
The MEIMs were given advice to take their business cards, give them out, and get as many back in return. Learning not to only get a piece of paper, but a memorable experience with a person face-to-face extended our network as a class and getting the classmates closer to what they want and love to do. Meeting industry leaders from Nickelodeon to NBC Universal to Mandate Pictures; the MEIMs garnered an extreme amount of insight to the industry through multiple perspectives.
For me, the biggest note of interest focused on the word "content." While we all will be striving to make the best films, the best marketing campaign, and most entertaining products; we are all doing the same thing: creating and distributing content. The second point of interest was around the current evolution of the entertainment industry as innovative technology brings new options to the table. How can I support the industry through this evolution, and how can I capitalize on it? As this question lingers in the back of my head, it begins to clarify some of my bigger interest: making the entertainment industry stronger.
Below are some pictures of the MEIMs at South by Southwest. There will be a page dedicated to our experiences soon.
Best wishes and warmest regards,
Alex

Some new additions to the web site! TwentySomethings is a new page! After a lot of hard work, TwentySomethings was a successful project in that a 22 minute movie came together in 3 months with over 50 cast and crew members. Take a look at the link to view screen shots. As the month progresses, keep your eye out for a trailer!
It has been rough living in Pittsburgh over the past week. 29.6 inches of snow has fallen limiting transportation both wheel and foot. Carnegie Mellon University cancelled school three days in a row! (A record, and hasn't happened for 18+ years) Take a look at some of the random pictures found along the way.

We're looking at a lot of changes in the life of Alexander Andrews. Between finding a new place in Pittsburgh, getting ready for LA, and attempting to wring whatever accomplishments out of his last days here in Pittsburgh, he is going to be pushing the sky's limits just as much as before.
This past month has been a huge success! Th!nk and Make submitted its film to South By Southwest, and will begin the process of circulating soon; Finals are over, and grades are being pumped out for all of the Heinz students; the production I've been working on here in Pittsburgh has wrapped, and is entering the final phases of its local Pittsburgh post production. Things have been amazing.
Now that break is coming up, I hope to update the website, write a little scriptage, and master auto-tuning. I can't wait to see what comes of next semester.

Holy cow! I can't believe how busy I've been in the past few weeks. I've dreamed of one day sitting down and posting something on here. Editing some of the page, and making it look even better. Nope. For now I have this for you:
I'm working on something awesome;
and one day, you'll all see.
The message line is simple;
preaching responsibility.
I'm not allowed to show you;
anything until it's done.
But a couple pictures shouldn't hurt;
unless you're making the same movie and are trying to steal everything. So if that's the case, I'll find you, and it won't be pretty.
The cast and crew is awesome,
and the producers nail their roles.
We're coming for you world;
don't, our back, you try to hold.
